This correctional facility provides comprehensive healthcare services to adult detainees in a secure environment. The facility maintains established protocols for primary care delivery and operates with support from the Chief Medical Officer for clinical guidance and assistance. The facility serves male and female detainees requiring primary care services within the correctional healthcare framework.

The area features Carlsbad Caverns National Park, which contains notable underground formations including the Big Room and Kings Palace. Visitors can explore geological wonders and ancient artifacts at Mesa Verde, with guided tours available that include transportation from nearby locations. The region offers outdoor activities such as river recreation with rapids and warm-water pursuits like swimming and boat surfing.

The DNP will provide comprehensive family medicine services to adult detainees aged 17 and older in a correctional facility setting, managing approximately 12 patients per day during one day per week with a maximum of 12 hours per shift. Clinical responsibilities include delivering primary care services, managing chronic and acute medical conditions, and maintaining accurate documentation using the Sapphire EMR system. The position requires mandatory typing skills and corrections experience is preferred. Call schedule is negotiable with 24/7/365 availability for emergent calls and email response within 4 hours while awake for those who accept call responsibilities.
