Job Details

  • Provide inpatient solid tumor care as an advanced practice provider specializing in oncology.
  • Full-time position working 40 hours per week with four 10-hour day shifts including Saturday and Sunday.
  • No night shifts required with holiday rotation coverage.
  • Care for patients in the hospital during diagnosis and treatment of oncologic disorders.
  • Evaluate and treat patients with malignancies and disorders related to oncologic diagnoses.
  • Work with early phase clinical trial patients.
  • Perform initial and periodic medical histories, physical examinations, and daily assessments.
  • Write prescriptions, order and interpret laboratory and radiology examinations.
  • Determine treatment plans in coordination with multidisciplinary team.
  • Plan and conduct chemotherapy education in collaboration with pharmacy.
  • Act as patient advocate and actively participate in goals of care conversations.
  • Handle 4-8 patient encounters per shift.
  • Must be Acute Care NP (AGACNP) or Physician Assistant with current North Carolina license.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience required.
  • Current prescriptive privileges, DEA license, and BLS certification required.
  • CAQ certification preferred.

Facility: OSF HealthCare Assignment Type: Locum Tenens | Long-Term Need

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Neurosurgery Advanced Practice Provider (PA or NP) for a long-term locum tenens opportunity supporting OSF HealthCare in Illinois. This position offers a predictable schedule with all 12-hour shifts, no operating room responsibilities, and a stable inpatient environment where shifts consistently run right at 12 hours.

Schedule

  • All 12-hour shifts

  • Shifts consistently end on time

  • Long-term, ongoing coverage

Responsibilities

  • Inpatient neurosurgery coverage

  • Patient assessments, rounding, and care coordination

  • Manage post-operative and non-operative neurosurgical patients

  • Collaborate with neurosurgeons and multidisciplinary care teams

  • Documentation and follow-up care

  • No OR or first assist responsibilities
