Seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP)/Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join their dedicated Cardiovascular Surgery team on a locum basis. The position is available to cover an APP resignation and is set to start in February. This role involves rounding and supporting both the cardiac and vascular surgeons and does not include any Operating Room (OR) responsibilities.

Responsibilities & Patient Load

The APP team is responsible for rounding and supporting the CV team. The role primarily involves floor and ICU patient care.

• CVICU: Approximately 2–8 patients per day (minimum 2–3).

• CVSU: Approximately 2–5 patients per day, including discharges.

• Vascular: Approximately 4–10 patients, mostly on the floor (not primary on most).

• Weekend Patient Load: Typically ranges from 15–30 patients.

Schedule & Call Requirements

• Shift Type: 4-day, 10-hour workweek (Days).

• On-Call: 1 in 4 weeks (first call from home).

• Weekend Requirements: Yes, 1 weekend shift per month.

Compensation & Benefits (Locum)

The provider will be compensated on a locum basis. The facility will reimburse:

• Flight

• Hotel

• Rental Car

• Mileage billed at the IRS standard rate

Required Qualifications & Experience

Candidates must meet the following mandatory requirements:

• Board Certified in APP [REQUIRED]

• BLS & ACLS Certifications [REQUIRED]

• Copy of the NPDB, self-query required at presentation (pulled within 30 days) [REQUIRED]

• Must be an experienced NP; will accept new grads only if they are experienced [REQUIRED]

• Active State Medical License (Michigan) or NLC [PREFERRED]
