Locum Tenens Nurse Practitioner – Urgent Care - Wilson, NC
Seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner for a locum tenens urgent care position in Wilson, NC. Job Details – North Carolina Nurse Practitioner Contract
Employment Type: Locum tenens (Travel contract)
Location: Wilson, NC 27893
Setting: Urgent Care
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 13 weeks (with potential for extension)
Hours per Week: 36
Shift Duration: 12-hour shifts
Patient Volume: Up to 40 patients per shift (adults and pediatrics, ages 6 months and up)
EMR: Epic (training provided)
Estimated Weekly Salary: $3,150 - $3,370
Nurse Practitioner Qualifications
Minimum 1 year of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in urgent care, acute care, or emergency medicine
Board Certification (NP Boards required)
Active BLS certification
Proficiency with Epic EMR (or willingness to complete training)
Strong clinical skills and ability to work independently as the sole provider onsite
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Key Responsibilities – Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner
Deliver comprehensive acute care to adult and pediatric patients in an urgent care setting
Perform minor procedures: I&D, laceration repair, ear irrigation, and other urgent care interventions
Document patient encounters in Epic EMR
Collaborate with onsite support staff (Center Manager, Medical Assistant, Patient Services Associate) and offsite supervising physician
Provide patient-centered care with professionalism and empathy
Participate in onboarding and EMR training prior to first solo shift
