Locum Tenens Nurse Practitioner – Urgent Care - Wilson, NC

Job Details – North Carolina Nurse Practitioner Contract

• Employment Type: Locum tenens (Travel contract)

• Location: Wilson, NC 27893

• Setting: Urgent Care 

• Start Date: ASAP

• Duration: 13 weeks (with potential for extension)

• Hours per Week: 36

• Shift Duration: 12-hour shifts

• Patient Volume: Up to 40 patients per shift (adults and pediatrics, ages 6 months and up)

• EMR: Epic (training provided)

• Estimated Weekly Salary: $3,150 - $3,370

Nurse Practitioner Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in urgent care, acute care, or emergency medicine

• Board Certification (NP Boards required)

• Active BLS certification

• Proficiency with Epic EMR (or willingness to complete training)

• Strong clinical skills and ability to work independently as the sole provider onsite

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Key Responsibilities – Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner

• Deliver comprehensive acute care to adult and pediatric patients in an urgent care setting

• Perform minor procedures: I&D, laceration repair, ear irrigation, and other urgent care interventions

• Document patient encounters in Epic EMR

• Collaborate with onsite support staff (Center Manager, Medical Assistant, Patient Services Associate) and offsite supervising physician

• Provide patient-centered care with professionalism and empathy

• Participate in onboarding and EMR training prior to first solo shift
