Sumo Medical Staffing is seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner with specialized experience in cardiovascular and cardiothoracic surgery to join our locum team in Tacoma, Washington. This opportunity begins in April 2026 and offers ongoing shifts with competitive compensation and full support.

Position Highlights

• Location: Tacoma, WA

• Start Date: April 2026

• Schedule:

  • Weekdays: 3–4 days/week, typically 7:00 AM–3:00 PM (may extend beyond)

  • Weekend Call: 1:4 rotation, 6–8+ hours/day

  • Call Days: 24-hour pager coverage

• Setting: Inpatient

• Responsibilities:

  • Pre- and post-operative patient evaluation and management

  • First assist in OR

  • VATS and DaVinci robotic thoracic procedures

  • Case volume: 6–8 cardiac, 9–12 thoracic per week

• EMR: Epic

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted WA license (IMLC accepted)

• Board certification

• BLS, ACLS, AANP certifications

• Minimum 3 years of CV/CT surgery experience

• DEA registration

• Clean malpractice history

• Must be proficient in robotic-assisted thoracic surgeries (90% of thoracic cases)
